Prerequisite
Basic computer and file-management skills are expected. Familiarity with basic drawing and vector graphics concepts will help you follow the exercises.

Dr. Muhammed Siraj is a cybersecurity specialist and academic with 15 years of experience, serving as Senior Lecturer in the Department of Informatics and Director of Graduate and Continuous Education at Academic City University in Accra. He holds a PhD in Security in Computing from Universiti Putra Malaysia, where his research focused on blockchain security, an MSc in Information and Communication Technology from Aalborg University in Denmark, and a degree from the University of Ghana. He is a licensed independent assessor with Ghana's Cyber Security Authority, holds leadership roles in national cybersecurity and privacy professional bodies, and is certified as a Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator (CHFI) and Certified Data Protection Supervisor (CDPS). Before joining Academic City, he served as Acting Director of ICT and Data Protection Supervisor at Wisconsin International University College. His expertise spans penetration testing, digital forensics, incident response, malware analysis, cryptography, cloud and IoT security, zero trust architecture, cyber threat intelligence, data protection, and governance, risk and compliance.
Dr. Siraj's research interests cover blockchain, cybersecurity, distributed computing, consensus protocols and machine learning, with published work on blockchain consensus security, smart-contract privacy preservation for sensitive records in the cloud, and new consensus mechanisms. This background gives him a distinctive perspective on artificial intelligence: as organisations adopt AI tools, agents and data-driven automation, he helps learners understand how to protect the data these systems depend on, recognise new attack surfaces, and put sound governance, privacy and access controls in place so that AI can be used safely and responsibly. In the classroom he connects technical practice with regulation, privacy and human factors, drawing on real-world security and data-protection cases to show how concepts apply in professional settings, and his experiential, hands-on teaching style has made him a trusted trainer for students and working professionals alike.
Visual design generated from a prompt is a recurring theme in the work of Dr. Alfred Ang, a full-stack AI developer, Agentic AI solution architect, corporate trainer and CTO of Tertiary Infotech Academy Pte Ltd in Singapore, the training organisation behind Tertiary Courses. Dr. Ang builds intelligent agents and business solutions end-to-end, spanning front end, back end, databases, cloud deployment and native mobile apps, and a good number of the 300+ public repositories deal directly with graphics. One is a logo maker in which a user describes a brand and receives three generated logo options from Gemini or OpenAI image models, ready to download. Another is a browser-based whiteboard with a vector toolbar of fourteen shapes and fourteen flowchart elements. Dr. Ang has also built a Procreate-style sketching studio for iPhone, iPad and Android tablets with pressure-sensitive brushes, layers, colour fill and symmetry tools, an offline fractal art generator that grows Mandelbrot and Julia patterns into wallpaper-ready images, and a QR code generator with selectable colour schemes and embedded logos. In addition, Dr. Ang designs the branding, icons and store artwork for a large catalogue of iOS and Android apps, and generates cover images and badges for the Tertiary Courses catalogue. This work requires a constant balance between what generative AI produces quickly and what a designer still needs to control precisely, which is the heart of using generative features inside Illustrator. Dr. Ang therefore understands both how image models interpret prompts and why clean, editable vector output matters when artwork must scale from a favicon to a banner.
In Generative AI for Adobe Illustrator, Dr. Ang applies that experience to Adobe Firefly, the generative engine built into Illustrator. The first topic, generative vector design essentials, introduces Text to Vector Graphic for producing scenes, subjects, icons and patterns from a prompt, and shows how to write prompts that specify style, level of detail and colour so the output is close to usable from the start. Learners then practise the step that matters most: inspecting the generated paths, cleaning up anchor points, regrouping shapes and adjusting strokes so the artwork is genuinely editable rather than a tangle of fragments. The second topic, advanced generative workflows, covers Generative Recolor for exploring colour themes, Generative Shape Fill for adding detail inside existing shapes and Generative Pattern for seamless repeats, and then combines these features into an end-to-end workflow for a logo, an icon set or a promotional illustration. Drawing on lessons from building image-generation tools, Dr. Ang explains why prompts behave differently across styles, how to keep a set of assets visually consistent and what to consider regarding commercial use and brand guidelines.
