Dr. Muhammed Siraj is a cybersecurity specialist and academic with 15 years of experience, serving as Senior Lecturer in the Department of Informatics and Director of Graduate and Continuous Education at Academic City University in Accra. He holds a PhD in Security in Computing from Universiti Putra Malaysia, where his research focused on blockchain security, an MSc in Information and Communication Technology from Aalborg University in Denmark, and a degree from the University of Ghana. He is a licensed independent assessor with Ghana's Cyber Security Authority, holds leadership roles in national cybersecurity and privacy professional bodies, and is certified as a Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator (CHFI) and Certified Data Protection Supervisor (CDPS). Before joining Academic City, he served as Acting Director of ICT and Data Protection Supervisor at Wisconsin International University College. His expertise spans penetration testing, digital forensics, incident response, malware analysis, cryptography, cloud and IoT security, zero trust architecture, cyber threat intelligence, data protection, and governance, risk and compliance.
Dr. Siraj's research interests cover blockchain, cybersecurity, distributed computing, consensus protocols and machine learning, with published work on blockchain consensus security, smart-contract privacy preservation for sensitive records in the cloud, and new consensus mechanisms. This background gives him a distinctive perspective on artificial intelligence: as organisations adopt AI tools, agents and data-driven automation, he helps learners understand how to protect the data these systems depend on, recognise new attack surfaces, and put sound governance, privacy and access controls in place so that AI can be used safely and responsibly. In the classroom he connects technical practice with regulation, privacy and human factors, drawing on real-world security and data-protection cases to show how concepts apply in professional settings, and his experiential, hands-on teaching style has made him a trusted trainer for students and working professionals alike.
Dr. Alfred Ang is a full-stack AI developer, agentic AI solution architect and corporate trainer, and serves as Chief Technology Officer of Tertiary Infotech Academy, the training organisation behind Tertiary Courses. Rather than teaching AI from slides alone, Dr. Ang builds real AI products end to end, from the user interface and back-end services to databases, cloud deployment and native mobile apps. That work is public: Dr. Ang's GitHub portfolio holds more than 300 repositories. Highlights include AI-LMS-TMS, a self-hosted, AI-powered learning and training management system with agent automation; the course-registration platform that runs the Tertiary Courses sites in Singapore, Malaysia and Ghana; and an AI-powered content management system built on Next.js and the Claude Agent SDK that generates content, schedules blog posts and runs a self-improving chatbot. Alongside these sit a long list of n8n automations, including retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) chatbots, an HR portal with human-in-the-loop approvals and a guarded AI assistant, a stock-analysis Telegram agent and an inventory forecasting agent running on a local large language model. Dr. Ang has also shipped native iOS and Android apps to the App Store and Google Play, several of them using on-device AI for speech, document scanning and text recognition, as well as an AI practice-exam platform, an automated AI video production pipeline and voice-enabled digital-human avatars.
This hands-on background shapes the way Dr. Ang teaches. Every concept in class is tied to something that has actually been built, tested and deployed, so learners see not just what an AI tool can do in a demo, but how it behaves with real data, real users and real constraints such as cost, privacy and reliability. Sessions are practical and paced for working professionals: short explanations, live demonstrations, then guided exercises in which participants build their own working solutions and leave with prompts, workflows and templates they can reuse the following week. Dr. Ang pays particular attention to the questions that matter once the training ends, such as which tool suits which job, how to check AI output before trusting it, how to keep people in the loop for important decisions, and how to move from a single experiment to something a team can depend on every day. Learners are encouraged to bring problems from their own work, and many of the examples used in class come straight from Dr. Ang's own projects, so the discussion stays grounded in what works in practice rather than in hype. Because the AI landscape changes almost every month, Dr. Ang also keeps the material current, swapping in newer models, tools and techniques as they mature and explaining the trade-offs openly, so participants understand not only how to use today's tools but how to evaluate the next ones. By the end of the course, learners should feel confident applying AI responsibly and productively in their own roles. To see the kind of AI applications, agents and automations that inform this course, learners are welcome to explore Dr. Ang's portfolio at https://github.com/alfredang before or after class.
