Dr. Muhammed Siraj is a cybersecurity specialist and academic with 15 years of experience, serving as Senior Lecturer in the Department of Informatics and Director of Graduate and Continuous Education at Academic City University in Accra. He holds a PhD in Security in Computing from Universiti Putra Malaysia, where his research focused on blockchain security, an MSc in Information and Communication Technology from Aalborg University in Denmark, and a degree from the University of Ghana. He is a licensed independent assessor with Ghana's Cyber Security Authority, holds leadership roles in national cybersecurity and privacy professional bodies, and is certified as a Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator (CHFI) and Certified Data Protection Supervisor (CDPS). Before joining Academic City, he served as Acting Director of ICT and Data Protection Supervisor at Wisconsin International University College. His expertise spans penetration testing, digital forensics, incident response, malware analysis, cryptography, cloud and IoT security, zero trust architecture, cyber threat intelligence, data protection, and governance, risk and compliance.
Dr. Siraj's research interests cover blockchain, cybersecurity, distributed computing, consensus protocols and machine learning, with published work on blockchain consensus security, smart-contract privacy preservation for sensitive records in the cloud, and new consensus mechanisms. This background gives him a distinctive perspective on artificial intelligence: as organisations adopt AI tools, agents and data-driven automation, he helps learners understand how to protect the data these systems depend on, recognise new attack surfaces, and put sound governance, privacy and access controls in place so that AI can be used safely and responsibly. In the classroom he connects technical practice with regulation, privacy and human factors, drawing on real-world security and data-protection cases to show how concepts apply in professional settings, and his experiential, hands-on teaching style has made him a trusted trainer for students and working professionals alike.
Dr. Alfred Ang spends a large part of every working week inside relational databases. As a full-stack AI developer, Agentic AI solution architect, corporate trainer and CTO of Tertiary Infotech Academy Pte Ltd in Singapore, the training organisation behind Tertiary Courses, Dr. Ang designs and ships complete systems in which the data model is the foundation for everything else. The most visible example is ai-mms, the course-registration learning management system running the Tertiary Courses sites in Singapore, Malaysia and Ghana on MySQL, where courses, classes, registrations and rosters must stay consistent across three independent deployments. Dr. Ang has also built an HR and accounting platform on Next.js with role-based access, leave accrual, attendance and payroll records, an ERP prototype on PostgreSQL with purchase orders and three-way matching, a self-hosted AI-powered CMS on Drizzle and Postgres, and a digital business card platform with a built-in CRM modelled in Prisma and PostgreSQL. Smaller experiments include a browser-based SQLite course assistant and an inventory dashboard with derived stock status. Across these projects, and many more among the 300+ public repositories, Dr. Ang routinely works with AI coding assistants such as Claude and GitHub Copilot to draft schemas, write migrations, optimise queries and generate reporting views, while personally reviewing every statement before it touches production data. That combination of AI speed and careful human review is exactly the working habit this course sets out to build. In ai-mms, for example, backend processing turns individual registrations into classes and rosters, exactly the kind of data transformation learners will practise in this course.
AI Vibe Coding for SQL is taught the same way Dr. Ang builds real systems: describe the requirement clearly, let the AI propose the SQL, then read, test and refine it until the result is correct. In the first topic on AI-assisted data modelling and database design, learners prompt an assistant to design tables, choose data types and define primary keys, foreign keys and relationships, then challenge the design with questions about duplication and integrity. The second topic covers data processing, querying and analysis, where learners ask questions in plain English, inspect the generated SELECT statements, joins and filters, and learn to spot subtle mistakes such as missing join conditions. The third topic focuses on aggregation and transformation using GROUP BY, window functions, subqueries and common table expressions to turn raw records into meaningful summaries. The final topic brings it together with data mapping, a simple warehouse structure and a dashboard built on top of the queries, mirroring the reporting views Dr. Ang creates for live platforms. Throughout the class, Dr. Ang shares practical lessons from running production databases, including why an index matters, how a careless UPDATE can do damage and why AI-written SQL must always be reviewed. Learners do not need to memorise syntax, but they leave understanding what the SQL is doing and why.
