AutoCAD Masterclass gives you practical, hands-on skills to create accurate 2D technical drawings with AutoCAD, the world's leading computer-aided design software for engineering, architecture, construction and manufacturing. AutoCAD lets you draft precise plans, layouts and details that can be shared, revised and printed to scale. This masterclass is designed for beginners, draughtspersons, engineers, architects, designers and technical staff who want to produce professional drawings efficiently.

You will begin by getting started with AutoCAD, learning the interface, drawing setup, units, coordinate systems and the essential draw and modify commands such as line, circle, offset, trim, extend and fillet. Next you will move into technical drawing with AutoCAD, using layers, object snaps, polar tracking, blocks and hatching to build accurate orthographic drawings and plans. You will then create part lists, adding attributes, tables and bills of materials linked to your drawing components.

The course continues with design documentation, covering dimensions, text, annotation styles, layouts, viewports and plotting drawings to scale, followed by design specification, where you will apply standards, title blocks and drawing conventions so your work is clear and consistent. Every topic includes guided exercises based on real engineering and architectural examples. By the end of the masterclass, you will be able to produce, annotate and publish professional 2D technical drawings in AutoCAD with confidence.

Minimum Software/Hardware Requirement

You will need the following for this course:

Install and test the listed software before class. Confirm the required version and account or licence access in your joining instructions. Cloud and AI services may charge subscription or usage fees.

Bring a laptop/workstation that meets Autodesk system requirements for the installed version, with a power adaptor and mouse. A Windows computer is required for Revit, Civil 3D, Inventor, 3ds Max and AutoCAD specialised toolsets. Confirm graphics, memory and storage before class.
