What's This Course About

Transform human resources with AI in this hands-on 1-day AI for HR course. You will learn how AI - and in particular agentic AI - is reshaping recruitment, onboarding, employee support and HR operations, using tools such as ChatGPT, Claude and agentic AI platforms. Starting from practical prompting for everyday HR tasks, the course quickly moves into building AI agents that carry out multi-step HR work on your behalf while keeping the human touch.

Through practical exercises, participants will build AI agents that screen candidates, draft job descriptions and communications, answer employee questions, and automate onboarding and HR workflows end to end. The course also covers governance, fairness and human oversight so your AI adoption stays responsible. By the end of the course, you will be able to apply AI across the HR function and design and deploy agentic AI workflows that make HR faster, fairer and more responsive.

Dr. Muhammed Siraj is a cybersecurity specialist and academic with 15 years of experience, serving as Senior Lecturer in the Department of Informatics and Director of Graduate and Continuous Education at Academic City University in Accra. He holds a PhD in Security in Computing from Universiti Putra Malaysia, where his research focused on blockchain security, an MSc in Information and Communication Technology from Aalborg University in Denmark, and a degree from the University of Ghana. He is a licensed independent assessor with Ghana's Cyber Security Authority, holds leadership roles in national cybersecurity and privacy professional bodies, and is certified as a Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator (CHFI) and Certified Data Protection Supervisor (CDPS). Before joining Academic City, he served as Acting Director of ICT and Data Protection Supervisor at Wisconsin International University College. His expertise spans penetration testing, digital forensics, incident response, malware analysis, cryptography, cloud and IoT security, zero trust architecture, cyber threat intelligence, data protection, and governance, risk and compliance.

Dr. Siraj's research interests cover blockchain, cybersecurity, distributed computing, consensus protocols and machine learning, with published work on blockchain consensus security, smart-contract privacy preservation for sensitive records in the cloud, and new consensus mechanisms. This background gives him a distinctive perspective on artificial intelligence: as organisations adopt AI tools, agents and data-driven automation, he helps learners understand how to protect the data these systems depend on, recognise new attack surfaces, and put sound governance, privacy and access controls in place so that AI can be used safely and responsibly. In the classroom he connects technical practice with regulation, privacy and human factors, drawing on real-world security and data-protection cases to show how concepts apply in professional settings, and his experiential, hands-on teaching style has made him a trusted trainer for students and working professionals alike.

Human resources is one of the areas where Dr. Alfred Ang's portfolio runs deepest, because the HR systems Dr. Ang has built are used to run a real organisation. Dr. Ang is a full-stack AI developer, Agentic AI solution architect and corporate trainer, and the CTO of Tertiary Infotech Academy Pte Ltd in Singapore, the training organisation behind Tertiary Courses, building intelligent agents and business systems end-to-end across front end, back end, databases, cloud deployment and native mobile apps. More than 300 public repositories on GitHub document the work. For the academy, Dr. Ang built an HR and accounting platform on Next.js with role-based access, leave accrual, clock-in and clock-out attendance, intern-hours tracking and payroll, plus native iOS and Android apps that let staff apply for leave, view payslips, submit expenses and approve requests on their phones. A self-service HR portal on n8n handles leave applications with human-in-the-loop manager approval and offers an OpenAI HR chatbot protected by input and output guardrails. On the recruitment side, Dr. Ang has built a tool that generates candidate-tailored interview questions and analyses a CV against a job description, an AI interview simulator that scores candidates across six roles against detailed rubrics, and a tutor marketplace that uses a short Claude AI interview during verification. A coaching simulator explores how jobs can be redesigned around accountable ownership of AI agents, and a workplace learning site focuses on AI transformation and job redesign.

This course draws directly on those builds. The first topic maps AI and agentic AI use cases across HR, introduces popular tools and agent platforms such as ChatGPT and Claude, and teaches effective prompting for HR tasks and how to connect AI safely to HR data and documents. The second topic designs agentic workflows for HR and builds practical agents for recruitment and candidate screening, onboarding and employee support, and for drafting HR content and communications, with learners seeing how a screening agent can be shaped by the same CV-versus-job-description logic used in Dr. Ang's recruitment tool. The final topic looks at automating multi-step HR workflows, integrating agents with existing HR systems and tools, governance, fairness and human oversight, and rolling out agentic AI across an organisation in a way employees will accept. Dr. Ang is especially careful on fairness: learners examine where bias can enter screening, why approvals should stay with people, and how guardrails keep a chatbot within policy, all illustrated with working examples rather than slides alone. Sessions are practical and discussion-rich, suiting HR professionals with no technical background as well as HR technology leads. Learners are invited to bring anonymised examples of their own processes, such as a job description or an onboarding checklist, so the agents they build reflect real work. Participants leave with prototype agents for recruitment, onboarding and employee queries, and a realistic rollout plan for their own team.
