What You'll Learn
This course prepares you for the DP-600 certification exam, covering all official exam domains and their approximate weightings:
Domain 1 Maintain a data analytics solution (27.5%)
- Implement workspace-level, item-level, and row/column/object/file-level access controls
- Apply sensitivity labels to items and endorse items
- Configure version control (Git integration) for a workspace
- Create and manage Power BI Desktop projects (.pbip) and configure deployment pipelines
- Perform impact analysis of downstream dependencies across lakehouses, warehouses, dataflows, and semantic models
- Deploy/manage semantic models via the XMLA endpoint and build reusable assets (.pbit, .pbids, shared semantic models)
Domain 2 Prepare data (47.5%)
- Create data connections; discover data via OneLake catalog and Real-Time hub; choose between data stores
- Ingest/access data and implement OneLake integration for Eventhouse and semantic models
- Create views, functions, and stored procedures; implement a star schema; denormalize, aggregate, and merge/join data
- Enrich data with new columns/tables; resolve duplicate, missing, or null data; convert data types; filter data
- Select, filter, and aggregate data using the Visual Query Editor
- Select, filter, and aggregate data using SQL, KQL, and DAX
Domain 3 Implement and manage semantic models (27.5%)
- Choose a storage mode and implement a star schema for a semantic model
- Implement relationships, including bridge tables and many-to-many relationships
- Write DAX calculations using variables and functions (iterators, table filtering, windowing, information functions)
- Implement calculation groups, dynamic format strings, field parameters, and design composite models
- Configure Direct Lake, including default fallback/refresh behavior, and choose Direct Lake on OneLake vs. SQL analytics endpoint
- Improve query, report-visual, and DAX performance; implement incremental refresh for semantic models
